3for1 - Drei Wege, ein Ziel (3for1 - Three ways, one goal)

"3for1 – Drei Wege, ein Ziel" (3for1 – Three ways, one goal) is a research project examining the effectiveness of an intervention with the aim to support psychologically distressed, job-seeking job centre clients in their recovery and job search. The intervention has three components: (i) psychological consultation, (ii) supported employment in the form of job coaching during job search and at the new workplace, and (iii) support by peer navigators, that is, guidance and support by individuals with lived experience of mental illness (and unemployment).

The effectiveness of this intervention will be tested primarily by comparing the employment rate 12 months after project entry between the control group, which was recruited for the project first (i.e., job centre clients without intervention) and the subsequently recruited intervention group (i.e., job centre clients who participated in the intervention for up to 12 months).

The project is led by the Jobcenter Ulm, in cooperation with four other job centres in Baden-Württemberg and one job centre in Bavaria, as well as the University Medical Centres Ulm and Tübingen.

Funding: German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs; part of the federal programme "Innovative Wege zur Teilhabe am Arbeitsleben – rehapro" (innovative ways for workplace inclusion and rehabilitation – rehapro).

Funding amount: € 4,12 Mio.

Project duration: 11/2021 - 10/2026

The 3for1-project is registered at the German Clinical Trial Register (DRKS-ID: DRKS00029002).
